Produced by Vishal Bhardwaj “Ishqiya” is another out standing movie set on the backdrop of Western Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur. The movie which was released on this Friday is directed by debutant director Abhishek Chaubey.
Written by Vishal Bhardwaj, Abhishek Chaubey and Sabrina Dhawan, Ishqiya is a story of love triangle between two thieves (Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi) and a widow (Vidya Balan).
Film starts with Naseeruddin Shah (Khalujaan) and Arshad Warsi (Babban), two thieves of Uttar Pradesh, running from their boss after taking off all his money. They both reach Gorakhpur, to meet an old friend but discover that he is dead. His widow, Krishna (Vidya Balan) gives them shelter. After which the story of complicated love triangle with the series of kidnappings, deaths and blow-ups starts. The climax of the film is unconventional and surprising.
On the acting front, all the three actors have given good performances. Talented actor Naseeruddin Shah as Khalujaan, 51 year old thief in the film has done full justice with his character as was expected. He has wonderfully depicted the emotion of aging lover who wants to live a peaceful life after spending many years in the world of guns and gangsters.
Arshad Warsi who is considered as the average actor, surprised everyone, he looked very convincing as young thief from Uttar Pradesh. Last but not least Vidya as Krishna has given tremendous performance. She played the role of sexy, deceptive women who seduces both men cunningly and uses them to fulfill her intentions.
Director Abhishek Chaubey made the film with full conviction and created an interesting drama with new twists. He has very tactfully served a spicy treat of comedy and suspense before audience.
