Khatta Meetha Movie Review

Director: Priyadarshan Cast: Akshay Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Makrand Deshpande, Rajpal Yadav, Neeraj Vora, Milind Gunaji, Asrani You walk to the cinema hall considering you happen to be going to have a great time with Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan waiting inside. But retain on, you possibly can be in for disappointment. Khatta Meetha is often a tired, old cousin of laughter fest Hera Pheri which the pair gave us in 2000. The film revolves around a good-for-nothing (at least his household thinks so) road contractor Sachin Tichkule (Kumar) and his extended family. The struggling contractor pushes his luck difficult and gets nowhere. Heavily in debt, he doesn’t even have funds to bribe officials. But his labourers mean everything to him, a reality he keeps reiterating, rather yelling, irritatingly, throughout the film. A flashback sequence shows Tichkule as an idealistic college student fighting for what he thinks is right. He even loses the adore of his life during the quest for justice, ...

Movie Review: Red Alert

Star cast: Suniel Shetty, Sameera Reddy, Bhagyashree, Vinod Khanna, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gulshan Grover and Naseeruddin Shah; Director: Anant Narayan Mahadevan; Rating: ** – A good attempt; Naseeruddin Shah has clearly chosen cameos for his belated forte. In the final minutes of this film (like the opening sequence of Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti), he randomly saunters on to the screen, this time, to express his audience’s most urgent sentiment: a long-drawn yawn. A poor man (Sunil Shetty) walks in to his house. It turns out they were classmates once. How many years Naseer may have flunked school to match Shetty’s years is not known. But his poor guest is in serious trouble: caught between the Maoist army, and the state police. This Andhraite fellow (Shetty), the hero, a reasonably gymmed out, toned up man for a BPL (below poverty line) bloke, was hijacked by Naxalites in one of their combat operations. The outlawed group promised to pay off this cook’s personal debts, if he took up guns for t...

“I Hate Luv Storys” Movie Review

Film: I Hate Luv Storys; Cast: Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Samir Soni, Bruna Abdullah, Aamir Ali, Kavin Dave, and Pooja Ghai; Director: Punit Malhotra; Movie Rating: *** You would not hate this love story. First time director Punit Malhotra proves his mettle by narrating a predictable story in such an interesting manner that you are hooked till the end. Director Punit Malhotra takes a pot shot at everything - designer sets, boy meets girl sagas, actresses singing in chiffon saris in the Alps - that made directors like Karan, Aditya Chopra and Kunal Kohli a name to reckon with in the industry. In terms of content, nothing is new. But the treatment is fresh, the backdrop is interesting and it's fun watching the romance brew between the lead pair Simran and Jay on the sets of a movie. Yes, the film is about the making of a love story where Simran works as an art designer and Jay as an assistant to highly successful director Vir Kapoor (Samir), known for his candy floss roma...

Music: Pritam Chakraborty, Shantanu Moitra, Aadesh Shrivastav, Wayne Sharp Producer & Director: Prakash Jha Prakash Jha's much-awaited flick 'Rajneeti', that is in theatres now. Rajneeti movie is really a multidimensional political tale that revolves within the dirty human game politicians of our region play, where they manipulate every other and even the nations of the third globe to fulfill their selfish desires. Although, the story line is according to an old concept which is politics the plots inside movie had been intelligently constructed that retain the suspense heading till the extremely end. In the movie Prithvi Pratap Singh (Arjun Rampal) and cousins Veerendra Pratap Singh (Manoj Bajpayee) are successors of the strong political party. However, when Prithvi gets chosen to eat the lead, an irritated Veerendra joins...
