Vin Diesel's Acceptance Speech for the MTV Generation Award Is So Touching

The MTV Movie & TV Awards were full of big changes on Sunday night. Besides adding television to the show and making the acting awards  gender-neutral , MTV gave the Generation Award to a film franchise instead of an individual for the first time in the show's existence. Obviously such an honor had to go to  Fast and Furious , the greatest car-jumping-through-skyscrapers series in cinematic history, and obviously, Vin Diesel aka Dominic Toretto had to accept the popcorn. Vin called up the members of the family who were present — Gal Gadot, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez — and thanked MTV for the trophy. "I gotta thank a generation that was willing to accept this multicultural franchise, where it didn’t matter what color your skin was or what country you were from," Vin said. "When you’re family, you’re family." Vin also thanked Paul Walker, who died in 2013 while filming for  Furious 7  was underway. "I could never stand on...

No dubbing for Vin Diesel in 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' in India

Actor Vin Diesel's popular character Baby Groot will not be dubbed in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" for its India release. "In our efforts to hit this sweet spot, we study the story, characters and work on the local script and dialogues with writers and talent in India. For 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2', we realised that Baby Groot was such a treat to watch in his original avatar (voiced by Vin Diesel); that in a first -- we decided to retain the original version across all languages in India," Amrita Pandey, Vice President, Studios, Disney India, said in a statement. "India is a multilingual country and we are fortunate that unlike in many other parts of the world, English has found its way into mainstream local and regional films. "We are excited to present Vin Diesel in the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions of the film just as he appears in the original English version of the film," Pandey added. "Guardians of the...

Vin Diesel : Voicing Groot is very challenging

Action star  Vin Diesel  says voicing Groot in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is very challenging as the limited vocabulary makes it hard to get emotion across. The 49-year-old  actor 's character in the  Marvel Comics  movie franchise is a tree-like humanoid named Groot who can only say "I am Groot". "It's very, very challenging because you're limited to three words. There's a secret script that I get where it has all of Groot's lines, but the catch of it all is the only way I can say it is: 'I am Groot'," Diesel said. The actor says he is set for an even bigger challenge in the upcoming second instalment of the franchise, as Groot, who was seen sacrificing himself at the end of the 2014 movie and re-growing into a miniature version of himself known as Baby Groot, will need a much higher voice to encapsulate his small size. "I have a feeling they'll do a combination of things (to alter the sound electronically). I m...
