Ash on co-star Rajnikant: He is like Pa

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has dismissed scepticism about her pairing with superstar Rajnikanth, two decades her senior, saying that he like father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan is an actor who has defied age. "Rajni sir, like Pa (Amitabh) is a professional and humility personified. There was no age factor. Theyare both legendary actors due to their body of work. Hence, their cinema becomes exciting to the viewers. Rajni sir's humility is a lesson to learn," Aishwarya said. Aamir Khan and his wife, Kiran Rao, were in a very joyous mood when they went to participate in the Toronto International Film Festival a few days back, and they returned with much applause too for Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat. The film had its international premiere at this festival. However, Rao needs to fight a legal case now for the title of her movie Dhobi Ghat. Vinod Kumar Kanojia, the chairman of Hindustan Kanojia Organisation of Dhobis, has claimed that the title of the movie was a sign for making caste division in the dhobi community. He has appealed to the Delhi High Court asking for a change of the title before film releases in theaters. Kanojia also requested the censor board to assess the film’s title in order to avoid caste division in society. In his petition, Kanojia stated that the movie could have opted for some other title but they have chosen the title to hurt the feelings of the dhobi community. Khatta Meetha Movie Review

Director: Priyadarshan Cast: Akshay Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Makrand Deshpande, Rajpal Yadav, Neeraj Vora, Milind Gunaji, Asrani You walk to the cinema hall considering you happen to be going to have a great time with Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan waiting inside. But retain on, you possibly can be in for disappointment. Khatta Meetha is often a tired, old cousin of laughter fest Hera Pheri which the pair gave us in 2000. The film revolves around a good-for-nothing (at least his household thinks so) road contractor Sachin Tichkule (Kumar) and his extended family. The struggling contractor pushes his luck difficult and gets nowhere. Heavily in debt, he doesn’t even have funds to bribe officials. But his labourers mean everything to him, a reality he keeps reiterating, rather yelling, irritatingly, throughout the film. A flashback sequence shows Tichkule as an idealistic college student fighting for what he thinks is right. He even loses the adore of his life during the quest for justice, ...

Bipasha: food,glorious food

Meanwhile Rapchik Rajni has entered my room, all smiles. She says that her mother is finally back in town and has decided to cook her a scrumptious meal. Okay, that means my Rajni will be off for the whole day. She says that she’s not the only one ready to binge on her mum’s delicacies. Bipasha Basu, who has been mighty busy with work and promoting Lamhaa, managed to workout in her gym somehow on her Sunday off and finally made time to have a fantastic Bengali meal cooked by her mother. She’s even bought a new iPad too and looks for opportunities to spend time on it. Wonder where beau John Abraham is!

Neetu confirms Ajith’s film

Neetu Chandra is all smiles these days. Reason: She has been roped in to play the heroine of ‘Mangaatha’, the 50th film of Ajith, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies. And there is one more reason for Neetu to feel excited. The actress, who was supposed to play Nagarjuna’s heroine in a Telugu film which failed to take off, will share the screen space with the Tollywood top actor in this Tamil movie. “It’s a double delight for me. Ajith and Nagarjuna are two great actors and acting with them in a film is no ordinary thing. Ajith has a huge fan following in these parts and working with him will make me reach a greater audience,” she says. On how she got the ‘prestigious offer’, Neetu says, “One fine day, I got a call from Venkat Prabhu’s office about casting me in Ajith’s film. I readily agreed since three big brands- Ajith, Nagarjuna and Venkat are coming together in this venture. Venkat is a great director and I loved his movies”.

Movie Review: Red Alert

Star cast: Suniel Shetty, Sameera Reddy, Bhagyashree, Vinod Khanna, Ashish Vidyarthi, Gulshan Grover and Naseeruddin Shah; Director: Anant Narayan Mahadevan; Rating: ** – A good attempt; Naseeruddin Shah has clearly chosen cameos for his belated forte. In the final minutes of this film (like the opening sequence of Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti), he randomly saunters on to the screen, this time, to express his audience’s most urgent sentiment: a long-drawn yawn. A poor man (Sunil Shetty) walks in to his house. It turns out they were classmates once. How many years Naseer may have flunked school to match Shetty’s years is not known. But his poor guest is in serious trouble: caught between the Maoist army, and the state police. This Andhraite fellow (Shetty), the hero, a reasonably gymmed out, toned up man for a BPL (below poverty line) bloke, was hijacked by Naxalites in one of their combat operations. The outlawed group promised to pay off this cook’s personal debts, if he took up guns for t...

Asin Lost Ranbir Kapoor

The South Indian actress who entered Bollywood Movies with a bang opposite Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan in Ghajini, is now struggling to keep herself afloat here. Probably her nightmare began with London Dreams opposite Bollywood Actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan which flopped badly at the Bollywood Boxoffice. Recently, Asin was dropped from Vipul Shah’s KhaKha KhaKha opposite Bollywood handsome dude John Abraham because according to the filmmakers, her character was similar to the one she played in Ghajini, but insiders said that it was John who didn’t want to romance her, though the actor denied these statements as a mere Bollywood Gossip. Now the actress reportedly has lost out on Anurag Basu’s film Silence starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra and that too because she’s not tall enough! The role had initially gone to Bollywood’s Hottest Actress Katrina Kaif, who according to the Bollywood gossip mongers had turned it down because of Priyanka’s powerful presence in the film....

Karan signs Imran once again

After the hopeful response of his newest release “I Hate Luv Storys”, Imran Khan is back in business. The actor has finally discovered that one hit that was eluding him for a whilst now and it has come courtesy this rom-com within the Dharma Productions banner. Even as I Hate LUV Storys continues to run to packed houses, Karan Johar has already gone ahead and signed Imran Kan for his new different film. Next film is going to be directed by director Shakun Batra who has worked as an assistant director on films like Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and Rock On. In the meantime, the buzz is that Bebo (Kareena Kapoor) might occur on board as the female lead for this project. If that occurs then it will indeed be a casting coup of sorts. Imran, who has usually confessed to as a large fan of Kareena, will definitely be super excited at the viewpoint of working with her that too in a Karan Johar production.

John likes Abhishek a lot

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’ may have bombed at the Box Office, but the audience still couldn’t afford to miss watching Aish light up the silver screen with her gorgeousness in the flick. While most of the fans have apparently watched the flick for stunning beauty Ash, heartthrob John Abraham has made it clear that as and when he sees the flick, it’ll only be for Abhishek. Well, Abhi and John are known to be the best of buddies since ‘Dostana’ days, but it seems that Abhi has managed to find himself a huge fan in John. The duo is all set to fly to London end July beginning August to shoot for the sequel of ‘Dostana’, and John wants to catch up on ‘Raavan’ before he leaves for London. “I’m a huge Mani Ratnam fan; and I like Abhishek a lot,” says John. Well, guess ‘Raavan’ is best seen only for Abhi’s performance. Good choice John! John can’t miss ‘Raavan’ as he ‘likes Abhishek a lot’!

“I Hate Luv Storys” Movie Review

Film: I Hate Luv Storys; Cast: Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Samir Soni, Bruna Abdullah, Aamir Ali, Kavin Dave, and Pooja Ghai; Director: Punit Malhotra; Movie Rating: *** You would not hate this love story. First time director Punit Malhotra proves his mettle by narrating a predictable story in such an interesting manner that you are hooked till the end. Director Punit Malhotra takes a pot shot at everything - designer sets, boy meets girl sagas, actresses singing in chiffon saris in the Alps - that made directors like Karan, Aditya Chopra and Kunal Kohli a name to reckon with in the industry. In terms of content, nothing is new. But the treatment is fresh, the backdrop is interesting and it's fun watching the romance brew between the lead pair Simran and Jay on the sets of a movie. Yes, the film is about the making of a love story where Simran works as an art designer and Jay as an assistant to highly successful director Vir Kapoor (Samir), known for his candy floss roma...

Munna Bhai Next Chhatrapati Shivaji

After his comedy series, Sanjay Dutt is all set to portray the role on the Maratha warrior in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Everybody involved on the project is tightlipped about it, as Dutt’s current assignments and legal hassles would require a year to be sorted out, reports Mumbai Mirror. A source on the project tells the daily, "We can’t see anyone except Sanjay Dutt as the brave and flamboyant Maratha warrior, galloping across the screen, sword in hand. We want an individual who comes around Russell Crowe’s character in Gladiator or Robin Hood." The director on the film, Soham Shah even so doesn't give the clear picture. He says, "All I would say at the moment is, I can in no way make a film without having Sanjay Dutt. He’s my mentor, guru, assist and support. If in spite of Kaal and Luck I’m still directing a project as large as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, it’s as a result of the trust and aid of Mr Dutt. At the moment, I’m getting ready to direct a film for Sa...

Music: Pritam Chakraborty, Shantanu Moitra, Aadesh Shrivastav, Wayne Sharp Producer & Director: Prakash Jha Prakash Jha's much-awaited flick 'Rajneeti', that is in theatres now. Rajneeti movie is really a multidimensional political tale that revolves within the dirty human game politicians of our region play, where they manipulate every other and even the nations of the third globe to fulfill their selfish desires. Although, the story line is according to an old concept which is politics the plots inside movie had been intelligently constructed that retain the suspense heading till the extremely end.
